Cross Country: Cross Country Open Season at McNeese

The UL cross country teams opened their 2011 campaign on Friday at the 2011 McNeese Cross Country Relay in Lake Charles.

The meet’s relay format saw multiple runner pairs from different schools run in a relay in order to complete the course.

UL’s men’s pairing of Zach France and Patrick Spiller were the top program finisher’s, completing the 6,000 meter course in a time of 18:50 to take seventh-place overall.

Also running for the men were 10th-place finisher’s Adam Kendrick and Jacob Delahoussaye, 14th-place finishers Cody Tiller and Courtland Privat, and 20th-place finishers Justin Arsement and Kail Kidd. 

Kendrick and Delahoussaye clocked a time of 18:59, while Tiller and Privat completed the course in 19:16. Arsement and Kidd ran a combined time of 19:28. 

On the women’s side, April Colomb and Petrona Layne were the top team finishers, placing 17th overall in a time of 23:09. ‘B’ team and ‘C’ team packed well, taking 20th and 21st with respective times of 24:01 and 25:06. The ‘B’ pairing consisted of Lauren Broussard and Michon Meche, while UL pair ‘C’ was run by Kaite Kidd and Jolie Bonneval.

The teams will return to action in two weeks as they play host to the 2011 Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational. Results and coverage will be available on RaginCajuns.com.
