Cross Country: Ragin' Cajuns Head To Magnolia State For Final Cross Country Tuneup

LAFAYETTE The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's cross country team competes in its final tuneup before the Sun Belt Conference Championships later this month when it travels to Clinton, Miss., to compete in the MC Invitational on Saturday at Choctaw Trails.

The women's 5K race will start at 8:30 a.m., with the men's 8K race set for 9:15 a.m.

Joining Louisiana and host Mississippi College in the invite are Division I programs Alabama A&M, Alcorn State, Grambling, Georgia State, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi Valley, New Orleans, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southern and ULM.

Also competing in the meet is Alabama-Huntsville, Arkansas-Monticello, Belhaven, Bethel (Tenn.), Blue Mountain College, East Texas Baptist, Jarvis Christian, LeTourneau, Martin Methodist, Mississippi University for Women, Mobile, Rust College, Spring Hill, Tougaloo, Texas-Dallas, Texas-Tyler and William Carey.

Louisiana, which will compete in the SBC Championships on Oct. 28 in Boone, N.C., earned a pair of first-place finishes and a second-place performance during the season on the men's side along with a seventh-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Stanley Limoh, Beau Robinson and Jonathan Kimutai have paced the Ragin' Cajuns on the men's side with Limoh posting a pair of first-place performances along with a third-place finish at Texas A&M. Robinson has added three top-10 finishes on the season for Louisiana, ranked No. 10 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region poll, with Kimutai adding a pair of top-5 finishes in three events.

Courtney Musgrove has paced the Ragin' Cajuns women's team with a pair of third-place finishes and a 12th-place showing at the Texas A&M Invitational. Claire Hodges has added a pair of top-10 finishes for the Ragin' Cajuns with Courtney Broussard and Alexa Breaux each recording top-15 finishes during the season.
