Cross Country: Robinson, Rice Lead Ragin' Cajuns At SBC Championships

ATLANTA Beau Robinson and Matt Rice each earned all-conference honors as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's cross country team earned a fourth-place finish at the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships on Sunday at Nash Farm Battlefield.
 
Courtney Musgrove earned a 17th-place finish in the women's 5K event, crossing the finish line in 19:05.9 as Louisiana finished 10th overall.
 
Robinson, a sophomore, finished second overall on the 8K course posting a time of 25:30.2 as the Ragin' Cajuns scored 101 points to finish behind UT Arlington (52), Appalachian State (66) and South Alabama (80).
 
Rice, who earned all-conference honors at the 2014 championships, finished 14th overall after posting a time of 26.20.0.
 
Bryce Robinson finished 16th overall for the Ragin' Cajuns with a time of 26:26.9 with Cole Stafford finishing 33rd (27:04.1), Trey Bonin finishing 36th (27:14.6), Jacob Chicola 42nd (27:46.2) and Christian Bergeron 44th (27:48.4).
 
In the women's race, Claire Hodges finished 34th overall with a time of 19:53.1 with Kelci Lyons finishing 49th (20:36.2) and Ashley Irwin 50th (20:40.1). Hailey Hesterman (20:53.6) finished 54th overall for the Ragin' Cajuns with Danielle Castaldi (20:55.1) finishing 55th and Anna Devitt (21:39.0) 62nd.
 
South Alabama claimed the women's championship with 46 points with Appalachian State (66), UT Arlington (84), Georgia State (138) and Little Rock (164) rounding out the top five.
