ARLINGTON, Texas Key Alfred and freshman Emoni Coleman each posted top-25 finishes in their respective races and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's cross country teams finished fourth and seventh respectively at the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational on Saturday at the Jesse Owens Sports Complex.

Alfred covered the 5K course in 16:30.3 to finish 22^nd overall for Louisiana with Samuel Avants placing 24^th (16:39.8) and Jonathan Kimutai 25^th (16:45.7).

Conner Meche (17:01.9) turned in a 30^th-place performance for the Ragin' Cajuns followed by Rashid Reese who finished 35^th (17:24.6), Solomon Brent 38^th (17:40.7), Stanley Limoh 39^th (17:40.8), Chandler Burns 41^st (17:52.3) and Riley Plunkett 43^rd (18:25.9).

Coleman, competing in her second collegiate meet, clocked a time of 19:41.3 to finish 24^th overall and lead Louisiana, which finished seventh overall in the women's 5K race. Ally McCulley placed 30^th overall (20:03.6) for the Ragin' Cajuns with freshman Rosalie Michot finishing 33^rd (20:22.6). Alexa Breaux crossed the finish line in 21:07.2 to finish 41^st in her 2019 debut for the Ragin' Cajuns with Meredith Hebert placing 48^th (22:23.1) and Kate Ferguson 49^th (23:06.5).

North Texas claimed the men's title with 26 points followed by UTA (29), TCU (86) and Louisiana (110) and Dallas Baptist (137). UTA claimed the women's crown with 38 points with North Texas (43), Midwestern State (92), TCU (114), Southeastern Oklahoma (132), Dallas Baptist (170), Louisiana (176) and Texas Wesleyan (193) following.

Louisiana will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28, when it travels to compete at the Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex.
