GAINESVILLE, Fla. Senior Matt Rice clocked the third-fastest time in school history in the men's 1,500-meter run, posting a time of 3:49.80, to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team after the second day of the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday at Percy Beard Track, located inside James G. Pressly Stadium on the University of Florida campus.

Claire Meyers (women's javelin), Meredith Driskell (women's pole vault) and Jacob Chicola (men's 3,000-meter steeplechase) each posted top-15 finishes in their respective events for Louisiana while Chicola, Dylan Heck (men's 3,000-meter steeplechase) and Craig Rock (men's 400-meter hurdles) each turned in personal-bests.

The final day of competition in one of the nation's premier collegiate and high school track meets is slated to begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. CDT. The meet will be streamed live on SEC Digital .

Rice, who clocked the second-fastest time in the Sun Belt Conference this season, finished 15th overall and took nearly five seconds off his previous best (3:54.27) set two weeks ago at the Louisiana Classics. Rice's time was the third sub-3:50 time recorded in school history by a Ragin' Cajun with Gervy Papion (3:46.40) and Matt McGrath (3:46.60) posting the top-two times in 1982. Stanley Limoh, who entered the meet ranked sixth in the Sun Belt Conference in the 1,500-meters, posted a time of 3:55.23 to finish 34th overall.

Chicola shaved over 16 seconds off his previous best (9:45.85) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing 18th overall in 9:29.36. Heck took nearly 15 seconds off his previous best (9:50.48) after posting a time of 9:35.64 to finish in 21st-place. Rock posted a time of 54.31 in the 400-meter hurdles to finish 27th overall and beat his previous best (54.53) set at the Louisiana Classics.

Hanoj Carter clocked a time of 10.50 in the men's 100-meter dash for the Ragin' Cajuns with Richard Delphin finishing 24th overall in the discus after recording a throw of 149-5.

Meyers posted the top finish of the day for the Ragin' Cajuns as the freshman finished 12th overall in the women's javelin with a throw of 139-0. Driskell cleared the bar at 12-1 for Louisiana to finish 13th overall with Chelcie Sonnier (119-9) finishing 20th in the javelin and Amie Leitko (136-11) 25th in the discus.
