Track and Field: Fournette, Vani Complete Cajun Careers At NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. Seniors Albert Fournette and Michael Vani each concluded their standout careers for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team as the duo competed late Wednesday at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor Championships at historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.

Fournette, a 2012 second-team All-American who was competing in the shot put, finished 19th overall after recording a throw of 60 feet, 1.25 inches. Vani, making his debut in the NCAA Championships, finished 21st overall in the men's pole vault after clearing the bar at 16-8.75.

Ryan Crouser of Texas claimed the men's shot put title after posting a throw of 69-3 while Sam Kendricks of Ole Miss earned the individual title in the pole vault after posting a mark of 18-8 .
