Cross Country: Final Tuneup For @RaginCajunsTRK At Arturo Barrios InvitationalPublished by
LAFAYETTE The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's cross country team gears up for its final tuneup before the Sun Belt Conference Championships later this month when it travels to College Station, Texas to compete at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday at the Dale Watts Course. Action will begin with the men's 8,000-meter race at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6K event at 9:45. Live results, courtesy of Texas A&M, will be available at RaginCajuns.com. Louisiana and host Texas A&M will be joined in the 28-team field by Baylor, Cal Baptist, Florida, University of Guelph (Canada), Houston Baptist, LSU, McNeese, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Prairie View (men), Rice (men), Sam Houston State, SMU (women), Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee (men), Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, TCU, Texas Southern (men), Texas State, Texas Tech, UT Arlington, UT Rio Grande Valley, UTSA and Vanderbilt. The Ragin' Cajuns return to action for the first time since posting a third-place finish at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Sept. 29 in Lake Charles. The meet, the first of two this season for Louisiana on the Dale Watts Course, is the final tuneup before the SBC Championships, scheduled for Oct. 27 in Mobile, Ala. Stanley Limoh finished third overall for Louisiana during the four-mile race and posted his 10th career top-5 finish. Freshmen Hannes Burger and Key Alfred each placed in the top-15 with Shadrack Kipngetich (16th) and Jonathan Kimutai (19th) posting top-20 performances. Hailey Hesterman's 15th-place led the Ragin' Cajuns women's team for the second consecutive meet, with Ally McCulley finishing 29th overall in her 2018 debut.
